Olivia Nicholls was left raging after an Australian airline delivered her racquets ‘destroyed’ when travelling to the Hobart International tournament.
The British tennis star vented her fury on X (formerly Twitter) at her displeasure. Nicholls also bemoaned how Jetstar Airlines charged her £80 to check in her equipment.
Nicholls was originally upset that she had to fork out the extra charge as the airline wouldn’t allow her to take the racquets as carry-on luggage.
Once she landed at Hobart, Nicholls was left shocked at the state of her three racquets and bag. So far, her post has generated almost 9k likes.
There have also been 929 reposts and almost 640 comments. The 30-year-old said: “This is unacceptable @JetstarAirways.
“160AUD to check in because I’m not allowed to take it as carry on, and you deliver my bag like this? How is this possible. My bag and rackets are totally destroyed.”

Olivia Nicholls Rages After Airline ‘Destroys’ Racquets
After Olivia Nicholls post starting to go viral, a plethora of comments were posted blasting Jetstar Airlines. One user wrote: “Wouldn’t fly with them ever. Virgin Australia all the way.”
Another added: “Wow it’s not easy to break a racket. They must have really tried hard!” A third comment simply stated: “Airlines. All the same.”
“They way the carry out baggage is atrocious! That’s why (if I’m able) I never check any bags… your situation of course is different, but goes to show the lack of care or Jetstar Airways,” another ranted.
30-year-old Nicholls specialises in doubles and in October 2024, peaked at world No. 38 in the WTA doubles rankings. Her finest performance came at Wimbledon in the mixed doubles in 2023.
Nicholls and partner Jonny O’Mara reached the semi-finals in SW19. The pair lost out to eventual champions Mate Pavić and Lyudmyla Kichenok.
