Olivia Newton-John's grieving daughter Chloe posts sweet duet clip and calls mum 'angel'

Olivia Newton John's heartbroken daughter Chloe Lattanzi has described her mother as an "angel" in the wake of her death.

The 36-year-old singer took to Instagram to honour the Grease icon's memory on Tuesday, after it was announced Olivia has peacefully passed away aged 73 on Monday morning at her ranch in California surrounded by family.

Chloe left fans in tears as she uploaded a behind-the-scenes video of the pair singing Window In The Wall side-by-side in the recording studio.

The clip showed the strong bond between the pair, with Olivia visibly moved as her daughter began singing.

Chloe penned the touching tribute in the caption: "You are my lighthouse mama. My safe place. My heart space. It has been my honour and continues to be my honour to be your baby and best friend.

"You are an angel on earth and everyone touched by you has been blessed. I love you forever my life giver, my teacher, my mama."

Emotional fans took to the comment section to share their condolences.

One wrote: "This. Is. Everything! The soundtrack of love with your mother/daughter perfect harmony. That "window" is possible dear Chloe. Keep the faith. Sending so much love as you grieve."

Another fan added: "So sorry to hear about your mother. Wishing you and your family the best. She will always be with you and proud of what you’re doing."

A third chimed: "So sorry to hear about your mother. Wishing you and your family the best. She will always be with you and proud of what you’re doing."

Olivia welcomed Chloe in January 1986 with ex-husband actor Matt Lattanzi, whom the late star married in 1984 and divorced amicably in 1995.

Olivia's niece Tottie Goldsmith spoke about the actress' passing in a television interview on Tuesday.

She said: "It's not a shock. We've known how sick she's been, especially the last five days."

Tottie said Olivia – who announced in 2017 that she was facing her third bout of cancer, after an initial diagnosis in 1992 – had not been afraid of dying during her final years.

She said she'd was unable to get to the US before Olivia's passing, so they had a video call in which she "told [her aunt] all the things [she] needed to say" before her death.

"She had always put on such a brave face but she had struggled."

"It wasn't just the cancer that got her, it was other complications, being in a hospital and with a very susceptible immune system."
