Olivia Bowen has opened up about her experience breastfeeding, admitting it "challenged me mentally" at the start.
The former Love Island star, 28, gave birth to her first child with husband Alex Bowen — who she met on the dating show — on June 10. Olivia has been very open with fans about her motherhood journey.
She recently told her Instagram followers that she never thought she would breastfeed her son after having doubts it would work for her.
Olivia has since said she found breastfeeding "tricky at the start," though revealed it now comes naturally to her.
"It came with a whole load of emotions I didn't know existed. It really challenged me mentally for a few days," she told Natures Aid.
She said: "I thought breastfeeding would be really difficult for me, I didn't expect for it to come so naturally to me and to be so bonding between me and Abel. However, it was also very tricky at the start."
Olivia added: "Now it's just normal and natural to me, even breastfeeding in public - I just don't care what anyone thinks!"
The reality star, who has partnered with vitamins supplement brand Natures Aid Mini Drops, also shared some sweet advice she was given from her mum before giving birth to her son.
Olivia said: "She just told us to do what we wanted.
"It may seem simple, but I think I have a habit of trying to make everyone happy, and she told us that it was our time as a family of three, to take it all in, and be selfish!
"There is a huge amount of pressure on a new mum and so many do’s and don’ts strung across the internet, so she’s always told us to do what we think is best - hearing that from your own mum is incredibly supportive."
Speaking to her Instagram followers recently, Olivia opened up about how she had previously thought she would be a "rubbish" mum.
She said: "I felt like I would be so rubbish as a Mum, not a maternal bone in my body pre Abel.
"Fast forward to when Abel was born & he first latched in the hospital it couldn't of felt more natural. The bond & connection I feel with him when feeding I will be forever grateful for."
