Olivia Attwood is 'devastated' by her shock early exit from this year's I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here.
A statement released on behalf of the former Love Island star via Instagram on Monday night claimed she was forced to leave the jungle for reasons 'beyond her control', adding the truth behind her exit will be explained 'in due course'.
Viewers of the hit ITV show were left shocked after learning the 31-year-old was on her way home after just 24 hours – equalling a record set by EastEnders ' Elaine Jordan in 2005 for the shortest time spent Down Under.
The statement read: "To say Olivia is heartbroken would be an understatement, she dreamed of doing IAC for years, and was absolutely loving every second of the show and throwing herself into jungle life feet first (just as we knew she would).
"However, for reasons beyond her control her journey has been cut short. Your support and kind words have meant the absolute world to her, now as much as it always has."
It continued: "You will hear the truth from Olivia in due course and she will be back on your screens in the New Year."
Meanwhile, a source claimed to the Daily Mail that Olivia was "upset" and "devastated" to have to leave the jungle.
They added: "She felt so honoured and privileged to have been the first Love Island star to be given the opportunity to go into the I'm A Celeb jungle.
"The worst part is that she absolutely did not quit the show and hates anyone thinking it was her decision to leave.
"She wanted to take part still, but she had to leave for reasons beyond her control, which will be explained at a later time."
Fans soon rallied round the TV personality with one commenting on Twitter : "Gutted @oliviajade_att has had to leave. Hope she is okay. She is sooooo funny, witty, so many straight faced one-liners, and I bet she's naturally great company."
Another wrote: "I don’t think I’ve ever been so disappointed for a contestant to leave. I was so excited to see @oliviajade_att in #ImACeleb. She showed in her short time on screen that she was going to be fab, as we expected. Absolutely gutted. Hope she’s ok x."
A third added: "Shame @oliviajade_att HAD to leave she would’ve smashed it. Was looking forward to seeing her. Sending love and hope you have a speedy recovery."
And a fourth said: "Oh no! Hope she's alright - what a shame, Olivia Attwood was probably going to be the most entertaining campmate of the series."
Earlier on Monday, meanwhile, Olivia's fiancé – Blackburn Rovers footballer Bradley Dack – said she would be 'fine' but would be 'gutted' by the whole episode.
"I just saw it in the news, like anyone else," he told MailOnline.
"She'll be gutted. I think she's fine, but I haven't spoken to her. I'm really not sure what's happened. I just saw it in the news, like anyone else. I'm waiting for a call."
Confirming the star's departure, a spokesperson for the show said: "As a precautionary measure Olivia needed to leave the jungle to undergo some medical checks.
"Unfortunately, the medical team has advised it is not safe for Olivia to return to camp as there needs to be further investigation.
"She has been absolutely brilliant and she’ll be very much missed on the show."
Mirror understands Olivia, who has been invited to comment, will still receive her £125,000 appearance fee.
