Oleksandr Zinchenko makes huge Arsenal youngster claim amid comparisons to star Gabriel Jesus

Arsenal summer signing Oleksandr Zinchenko has praised teammate Gabriel Martinelli, claiming he has a huge future ahead of him in football. It comes after an impressive start to the season for the Brazilian, who will be hoping he can carry some of the momentum he picked up from the previous campaign.

The 21-year-old managed 12 goal involvements in the Premier League last time out, earning a call-up to the Brazilian senior national team too. An impressive pre-season for the youngster saw plenty of praise from new recruit and compatriot Gabriel Jesus, who told Podpah podcast: "Woah! Martinelli – he’s an animal.

"An animal! He never gets tired! [My new teammates] at the club are so hungry, they’re desperate to get this club back to winning a Premier League after 20 years. This kind of challenge excites me a lot to be here."

With two goals in his first two games of the season, the winger is on track for yet another impressive campaign at the Emirates Stadium, potentially besting his tally from the previous season. It's not just those that have known him for a while that are impressed by his performances so far.

New signing Zinchenko has also been full of praise for his teammate, despite only joining the club a few weeks ago. Speaking to the Evening Standard, he said: "He [Gabriel Martinelli] is incredible, he is a real diamond. I would say exactly the same things about him that I say about Gabriel Jesus.

“The way these two guys are working — how everyone is working really — every single day is unbelievable. He [Martinelli] has got amazing quality and he’s still young. I am pretty sure he has an unbelievable future.”

Given some of the talent that Zinchenko has and has been a part of, it should come as a huge sign of things to come for Martinelli, should he manage to fulfil it. With two goals in two matches so far for the Brazilian in the league, he'll be hoping for more when the side face Bournemouth on Saturday evening.
