Oleksandr Zinchenko delivers Arsenal Premier League title verdict amid Jorginho claim

Oleksandr Zinchenko is hopeful that Arsenal can get revenge on his old team and the Gunners title rivals Manchester City in their Premier League meeting next Thursday. The Premier League's top two met in the FA Cup fourth round at Etihad Stadium where City came out on top, but they are set to do battle again in a game that could be key to deciding who wins the title.

Pep Guardiola's side missed the opportunity to close the gap to Arsenal over the weekend after both teams lost away from home. With Everton rejuvenated under Sean Dyche, Mikel Arteta tasted just his second league loss of the season at Goodison Park, with City then losing to Tottenham where Harry Kane netted the only goal of the game to break Jimmy Greaves' goalscoring record at Spurs.

After a full week of training, both teams will be looking to bounce back from their respective defeats. Mikel Arteta's side are back at Emirates Stadium where they welcome Brentford on Saturday before City take on Aston Villa the following day.

Just a few days after their respective weekend clashes Arteta and Guardiola will meet in north London for arguably the biggest game of the season thus far. Having played under both coaches Zinchenko revealed that there are understandably several similarities. "I knew Mikel since City and I always knew that he is an amazing manager," the Ukrainian said in an interview with VBET News.

"There is a lot of similarities between Arteta and Guardiola but obviously everyone is a bit different and still there is some difference between them as well. But the similarity is that both of them want to win every single game and that's the most important thing."

After winning a fourth Premier League title with City last season, Zinchenko moved to Arsenal in the summer where his team are now seemingly title favourites. Despite their five-point lead and game in hand, the 26-year-old refused to comment on Arsenal potentially winning silverware with so many games left to play.

“Honestly I’m not going to give any promises because there is still a long way to go," Zinchenko said. "There is a lot of talk about our title race but the Premier League is the toughest league in the world and you saw, Everton is in the relegation zone but they beat us. Anything can happen in the league and we just need to go step by step."

To help with their title bid, experienced Premier League stars Leandro Trossard and Jorginho joined the club in the January transfer window. The latter arrived on deadline day from Chelsea and Zinchenko believes he will be key to the team for the remainder of the season.

“He is an amazing player, big personality," Zinchenko added. "Huge experience as well. He is a winner, he knows how to win. And for sure he’s going to help us a lot.”
