Oleksandr Zinchenko breaks silence on Kyle Walker incident during Arsenal's loss to Man City

Oleksandr Zinchenko's Arsenal career has got off to a flying start.

Zinchenko arrived from Premier League champions Manchester City during the summer transfer window in a deal worth in the region of £35 million. Since then, the talented defender has established himself as one of the first names on Mikel Arteta 's teamsheet, performing admirably as an inverted left-back, with his side sitting first in the league standings for just under six months now.

And it is the Ukrainian's former team, City, that are second in the table, currently five points behind the Gunners, although the Citizens have played one more match than their title rivals. Zinchenko's first game back at the Etihad Stadium certainly didn't go to plan as the home side secured a 1-0 victory in last month's fourth-round FA Cup clash.

After the match, City right-back Kyle Walker was seen teasing Zinchenko, clearly annoying his former teammate before the 26-year-old began to calm down when more City players approached him. Now, the Arsenal man has spoken about his relationship with other members of Pep Guardiola's squad whilst also admitting that he is keen to enact some revenge when the two sides go head-to-head in the league on Wednesday night.

"I still keep in touch with most of them; we are friends and always will be," he told Vbet News. "Yeah, they won that match, and they were joking with me.

"But I hope we will get revenge next Wednesday." Zinchenko also played down talk surrounding the Gunners' title charge, claiming that they are merely taking it one game at a game at the moment.

"Honestly I'm not going to give any promises because there is still a long way to go," he added. "There is a lot of talk about our title race but the Premier League is the toughest league in the World and you saw, Everton is in the relegation zone but they beat us.

"Anything can happen in the league and we just need to go step by step."
