Oleksandr Usyk stance on Tyson Fury fight after Derek Chisora bout confirmed

Oleksandr Usyk's trainer has branded Tyson Fury a 'chatterbox' and criticised his decision to fight Derek Chisora on December 3rd at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Fury takes on Chisora, who is currently ranked 14th with the WBC, in place of Anthony Joshua after talks broke down between the pair last month in the wake of AJ's defeat to Usyk in August. Usyk is taking some time away from the ring, focusing on charity work and spending time with his family.

However, his trainer Sergey Lapin has revealed that his star is 'ready' for a fight now and that Fury should not avoid him having secured an 'easy' fight against Chisora, 38. Lapin, who was once Ukrainian light-heavyweight champion in 2013, is a key figure in the Usyk camp and has spoken about who the 33-year-old wants to face next after Fury.

Speaking to Lord Ping, Lapin explained his feelings towards Fury after the Chisora fight was confirmed, he said: "Usyk has already recovered from the fight with Anthony Joshua, he's keeping himself in shape and is currently engaged in charity work.

"He's also waiting for the chatterbox Tyson Fury to finally have the courage to enter the ring with him. In the meantime Fury fights Derek Chisora. This is not an interesting fight, who will like this fight? Tyson is looking for easy fights."

Usyk is a former cruiserweight world champion and Lapin also revealed that his star was already looking to his next opponent, with Mexico's Canelo Alvarez in his sights. Alvarez recently competed against Sergey Kovalev at light-heavyweight and Lapin believes that two of the top pound for pound fighters could meet in the future.

He said: "Next year, the fight for the title of undisputed world champion against Tyson Fury is our priority. This is the main goal. But if this does not happen for whatever reason, then I hope that there will still be some very interesting fights ahead.

"Alex could, for example, return to the cruiserweight division but only if he has a fight with Saul Alvarez. That's the only fighter that Usyk would come back down to cruiserweight for."
