Oleksandr Usyk Next Fight: Who Will The Great Ukrainian Face?

The Oleksandr Usyk next fight is yet to be confirmed, having defeated Tyson Fury back-to-back to cement his name as an all-time boxing great. Who could Usyk fight next in 2025, or could he retire and walk away on top?

Oleksandr Usyk Next Fight: Who Will The Undefeated Ukrainian Face Next?

Oleksandr Usyk has become one of the 21st century boxing greats in recent years. The unbeaten Ukrainian fighter not only became undisputed champion at cruiserweight, but also became undisputed king of the heavyweight division too earlier in 2024.

Usyk has beaten all comers in his career to date, including Anthony Joshua on two occasions and of course Tyson Fury twice too after back-to-back victories over ‘The Gypsy King’. Usyk became the first undisputed heavyweight champion of the four belt era, and the first since Lennox Lewis achieved the feat against Evander Holyfield in 1999.

Oleksandr Usyk’s record is currently a perfect 23-0. This includes 14 wins via knockout and just nine decision victories. Not only that, but the great Ukrainian has won all 12 world title fights he has competed in at both cruiserweight and heavyweight combined.

The 37-year-old will aim to improve this record in his next fight too, provided he continues with his career and fights on. After back-to-back wins over Tyson Fury, boxing fans are intrigued to see Usyk’s next move and what he might do going forward.

His Excellency Turki Alalshikh once again put on this huge Riyadh Season event, with the great Ukrainian reigning supreme once again. After winning two fights against Tyson Fury, two against Anthony Joshua and one against Daniel Dubois in his last five, there isn’t much left for Usyk to prove.

That being said, ‘The Cat’ has expressed his desire to fight on and not hang up his gloves yet. This could mean facing the winner of the Daniel Dubois vs Joseph Parker fight on February 22nd, or perhaps any of the other fringe contenders in the heavyweight division.

Could Oleksandr Usyk Retire Or Have Daniel Dubois Rematch Next?

As previously alluded to, the Oleksandr Usyk next fight is yet to be confirmed. He defeated Tyson Fury for the second time in Riyadh on December 21st, putting an end to their rivalry whilst pocketing £82.5 million in prize money for his rematch win too.

The Daniel Dubois rematch could happen in 2025, with a narrative from their first fight. However, Dubois will need to beat Joseph Parker on February 22nd for this to happen.

Other names such as Martin Bakole, Zhilei Zhang, Agit Kabayel, Efe Ajagba and Joseph Parker will all feel they deserve a chance at fighting Usyk, but time will tell whether any of these challenger get their shot or not. Another option for the Oleksandr Usyk next fight is no fight at all – retirement.

After beating Fury as the favourite with the best boxing betting sites in the UK, some fans have discussed the possibility of Usyk hanging his gloves up for good. There is nothing left for Usyk to prove now, having entirely wiped out both the cruiserweight and heavyweight divisions.

At 37-years-old, Oleksandr Usyk could well sail off into the sunset and retire from the sport. If he decides to do this, nobody could begrudge him. He has had a career littered with major triumphs and sensational performances, so there is nothing left for Usyk to prove.

Time will tell what happens next for Oleksandr Usyk. One thing that cannot be denied is the fact he is a modern great and one of the best fighters of all time. Period.
