On Monday, the Tennessee Titans continued culling their roster in the wake of firing general manager Jon Robinson, as the team parted ways with both outside linebacker Ola Adeniyi and linebacker Joe Schobert.
The waiving of Adeniyi was somewhat of a surprise, as he was often praised by coaches, was a good special teams player, and he provided depth at a position where the Titans need it.
But on the flip side of that coin, Adeniyi hadn’t notched a sack since Week 3 of last season, and he had issues staying healthy this year, playing in just three games due to a neck injury.
He finally returned to the lineup in Week 13 but was a healthy scratch in Week 14 after the team acquired Tarell Basham.
After news of Adeniyi’s release broke, he took to social media to thank the Titans for his season-plus in the two-tone blue.
Truly appreciated the opportunity I was giving by the Titans Organization and will forever be grateful 🙏🏾. https://t.co/IS20qPmucY

Adeniyi will now hit waivers on Tuesday. He’ll be a free agent if he goes unclaimed.
