The Arizona Cardinals made a move to sign offensive lineman Rashaad Coward after he tried out on Monday. The team needed depth on the offensive line.
Already without left tackle D.J. Humphries, who is dealing with a stomach illness that has kept him out of practice thus far in training camp, and not giving center Rodney Hudson a full practice load early on, they are going to be without backup guard/tackle Justin Murray.
Murray did not practice Saturday or Monday. He is going to miss some time.
Head coach Kliff Kingsbury told reporters Tuesday he hoped Murray could return in “two to three weeks.” After initially saying it was back injury (which is what ended his season in 2021 after only three games) Kingsbury corrected himself to say that it is an ankle injury Murray sustained.
With that timetable, Murray will miss at least the preseason opener and perhaps their first two preseason contests.
