Annie's Burger Shack will be returning to its roots this autumn by hosting a series of pop-up kitchens at pubs in Nottingham. Annie's was once located in the kitchen of the Old Angel pub before moving to its location in the Lace Market.

The restaurant will be partnering with the independent brewery, Blue Monkey’s Organ Grinder pub in Alfreton Road on Saturday nights. Bierkeller

Friar Lane

To be fair, Bierkeller is a German-inspired bar all year round not just for Oktoberfest. The event has become a popular annual affair combining the best of all things Bavarian.

To get into the true spirit of Oktoberfest, fancy dress is encouraged. This means breaking out the lederhosen if you have one. There will also be plenty of DJs to get everyone dancing. The event does need booking in advance and tickets are on sale through the Facebook page and website for £

The Garage at Chilwell

63 High Rd, Chilwell, Beeston, NG9 4AJ

The Garage is no stranger to a good theme night as it regularly hosts a popular Budapest ruin bar-style evening. Although this time it's time to celebrate by bringing all things Munich to the Midlands with authentic beers, currywurst and bratwurst.

Flown in from Munich, Oktoberfest at The Garage secures 1 of the 6 licensed beers from the official Oktoberfest. There will also be a German-style Oompha band on site too to really get the party started. Tickets are on sale now for the evening starting at £15.00 but the family sessions are free.

Oktoberfest at Liquid Light Taproom

Unit 9, Robin Hood Industrial Estate, Alfred St, NG3 1GE

Liquid Light is a bit of a hidden gem but worth the walk if you fancy a good beer and burgers. This year, to celebrate Oktoberfest, the team will host a best-dressed competition on the night so it's time to dig out the festive aprons, lederhosen and leather trousers for the celebrations.

The event is free to enter but there will be a special Oktoberfest menu by vegan favourites, Mocky-D available to purchase. Not to mention the excellent beer that Liquid Light has become known for.

O' Neills

Market Square

O'Neill's in the city centre will be hosting a German beer festival that stretches over a fortnight with lots of fun activities planned. The event will start on Friday, October 7 and Saturday, October 8 with live music, and entertainment including a German Oompa band.

The pub will be transformed into a Bavarian-themed hall complete with pretzel stands and saloon doors. There will be limited-time offers on Paulaner beer steins and bratwurst. Hosts will also be getting into the spirit by donning full lederhosen.

Christopher Nicholson, general manager, at O’Neill’s Nottingham said: “We can’t wait for guests to experience the Oktoberfest celebrations at O’Neill’s Nottingham this year. It’s going to be a great event with the team looking forward to welcoming guests to celebrate with us. And don’t forget, fancy dress is optional.”
