The Oklahoma City Thunder have yo-yo’d their two rookie forwards over the last three days.
The Thunder announced on Sunday that they have assigned forwards Ousmane Dieng and Jaylin Williams to their G League affiliate OKC Blue.
This is now their second assignment of the season. Dieng and Williams were originally assigned to the Blue on Friday but were recalled on Saturday before the Thunder’s game against the Dallas Mavericks.
Neither of them played in the game as they were a coach’s decision.
Thunder head coach Mark Daigneault explained the move as a way to give the two rookies some practice time before and after the Mavericks game.
With the Thunder not playing again until Tuesday against the Orlando Magic, it gives the rookies a chance to get some practice time as they have barely seen time on the court so far this season.
The Blue kicked off their training camp last week and begin their season in November.
After six games, Dieng averages 1.8 points, 1.6 rebounds and 13 minutes. In one game, Williams has four points and six rebounds.
