The Oklahoma City Thunder announced on Monday that they have assigned rookie forward Ousmane Dieng to the G League’s OKC Blue.
Following their win over the Houston Rockets on Saturday, Thunder head coach Mark Daigneault revealed Dieng was going to get assigned to the Blue in the near future in a pre-planned move.
Dieng has appeared in five NBA games since returning from a wrist fracture. In those five games, Dieng averages 3.6 points, 1.8 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 13 minutes.
With Dieng not getting consistent minutes with the Thunder, this assignment is likely to give him playing time as he continues to find a rhythm since his return.
In 19 games with the Thunder, the 19-year-old is averaging 4.2 points, 2.6 rebounds and 1.4 assists.
