The Oklahoma City Thunder announced on Tuesday that they have assigned rookie forward Jaylin Williams to the G League’s OKC Blue.
Williams played for the Blue on Monday afternoon before being recalled to the Thunder. It appears the franchise will likely follow a similar plan on Wednesday as the Blue play in the afternoon and the Thunder play at night.
This is a huge benefit of having the Thunder and Blue play in the same arena. It allows players to get called up and down seamlessly with no logistical issues.
In five games with the Thunder, Williams is averaging 2.8 points and two rebounds. In four games with the Blue, Williams is averaging 13.3 points, 8.8 rebounds and five assists.
