The Oklahoma City Thunder announced Thursday they had assigned second-year forward Ousmane Dieng to the G League’s OKC Blue.
This has been a common occurrence for the 20-year-old through his first two seasons in the NBA. Dieng has been mostly outside of the rotation this season, so playing with the Blue gives him a chance to get consistent playing time.
In 12 games with the Blue, Dieng averaged 15.6 points on 44.7% shooting, 6.5 rebounds and four assists. He’s shooting 24% from 3 on 4.2 attempts.
In 29 games with the Thunder, Dieng averaged 4.1 points on 42.6% shooting, 1.7 rebounds and 1.1 assists. He’s shooting 31.3% from 3 on 2.2 attempts.
Dieng was drafted with the No. 11 pick from the 2022 NBA draft.
The Blue also announced the addition of forward Troy Baxter Jr. and guard Kong Kong from the player pool.
