Ohio State’s Ryan Day Had Perfect Reply to ‘Most Romantic’ Thing He’s Done for Wife

No. 4 Ohio State is fresh off a thrilling 17–14 victory over Notre Dame in South Bend, and the Buckeyes head into a bye weekend with a ton of momentum heading into the crux of the Big Ten schedule.

Given that the Buckeyes don’t play this weekend, coach Ryan Day had some time to speak with a group of supporters at an event this week.

At that event, Day was asked about the “most romantic thing he’s done for his wife.”

Day, clearly a true football coach through and through, had a great response.

“The most romantic thing I’ve done for my wife in the last few months is beat Notre Dame last Saturday night,” he said to a chorus of cheers and laughs.

The victory over the Irish clearly meant a lot to Day, who came to the defense of his team after criticism of its toughness. The most vocal critic leading up to the matchup was Hall of Fame coach Lou Holtz, who won a national championship at Ohio State as an assistant in 1968 and won the ’88 national title at Notre Dame.

Day has been relishing in the victory, firing back at Holtz’s criticisms and now continuing to bask in the big win in front of Buckeyes fans this week.
