Ohio State offensive lineman Jakob James loses his black stripe

We’ve got another one.

Freshman offensive lineman Jakob James has joined the growing list of Ohio State football newcomers that have shed their black stripes. It all went down on Monday afternoon and was shared to the Ohio State Football Twitter account.

James, out of Cincinnati Elder, was rated as a 3-star prospect at the offensive tackle spot according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings. At 6-foot, 5-inches, and 285-pounds, the Ohio product chose the Buckeyes over programs like Michigan, Penn State, and LSU.

Now’ he’s “officially” a part of the Buckeye brotherhood.

“I just want to thank my family and friends back home,” said James. “Coach Mick and his staff, Coach Stud, Coach Cook, and the whole O-line unit. Go Bucks!”

You can watch the brief ceremony below thanks to the wonderment of the Twitterverse.
