In the midst of the Ohio State playoff run, backup offensive lineman George Fitzpatrick announced he would be entering the transfer portal but would remain with the team throughout the postseason. Just a few days after the national title game we now know Fitzpatrick will be headed to Manhattan, Kansas to join the Kansas State Wildcats.
A Colorado native, Fitzpatrick was a four-star prospect in the 2022 class. As a redshirt sophomore, he will have two years of eligibility left to give the Wildcats. He will join former OSU linebacker Gabe Powers at Kansas State which many jokingly equated to a Major League Baseball trade because of Will Howard coming to the Buckeyes from the Wildcats last year.

With the addition of offensive linemen Ethan Onianwa and Phillip Daniels from the transfer portal, there was a good chance that Fitzpatrick was going to be on the outside looking in for a starting spot. He’ll have the chance to earn a prominent role on the Kansas State offensive line for a team that was 9-4 in the Big 12.
