Ohio State in final group for elite Texas running back who will visit next month

As we saw this past year, having running back depth is key and Ohio State is trying to continue with that trend. Since there were plenty of backs already on campus and Mark Fletcher decommitting late, the 2023 class was completed without a back.

Head coach Ryan Day and his running backs coach Tony Alford are already working on getting a back and have made a very positive impression on Texas native, James Peoples. He dropped his final six schools today and the Buckeyes made the cut along with Alabama, Oklahoma, Oregon, TCU, and Texas.

Peoples is viewed as a top-six running back in the country and a composite top 100 player by 247Sports. He stands 5-foot, 10 inches, and weighs 190 pounds.

There is more good news regarding the Buckeyes and Peoples, he will be visiting Columbus at the end of March.

The Ohio State coaching staff has offered more than a few running backs in the 2024 cycle, but it’s looking very good with Peoples at the moment.
