It’s tradition for teams to add a little flair to uniforms when playing in the ‘Granddaddy of Them All,’ the venerable Rose Bowl. Usually, it is some iteration of roses intertwined into the uniform that is the go-to. Some are more obvious, and others a tad more subtle.
Ohio State has chosen to go with the latter, which doesn’t deviate from the traditional look but is sharp when seen up close. The Buckeyes will use a rose pattern embedded in the scarlet center strip of their helmet. It is the same design OSU wore the last time it played in the Rose Bowl on January 1, 2022, an all-time classic win over Utah.
The Buckeyes would go on to have a historic performance in that game both as a team and with individual performances from C.J. Stroud and Jaxon Smith-Njigba.

The uniform selection is of little consequence for most fans if the team doesn’t perform well. However, these young kids love to look good, and the Ohio State ensemble is one of the cleanest looks out there. Adding the roses to the helmet stripe is the chef’s kiss.
