Ohio State football put together one of the strongest recruiting classes in the country for the 2025 cycle and the coaching staff is working hard to make sure the 2026 class is even better. The Buckeyes have had their eye on five-star linebacker Tyler Atkinson for a while and have appeared to make up solid ground for his commitment, but some bad news just broke.
The Georgia native has just scheduled a visit to Big Ten rival Oregon for this upcoming weekend. All rumors suggested that Atkinson was down to just two schools in hometown Georgia and our beloved national champion Buckeyes, but it looks like Dan Lanning and the Ducks are making a push.
The consensus top 20 player in the class has also been pursued intensely by the Clemson Tigers and the Tennessee Volunteers, but rumors indicate those two schools are an afterthought. Standing at 6-feet, 2-inches and 205-pounds, he has the frame to play sooner rather than later for any program.
UPDATE: 5⭐️ 2026 LB Tyler Atkinson will visit Oregon this weekend, he tells me. Atkinson is a 6’2, 205 pound linebacker from Grayson High School in Georgia.
He will be Oregon’s 11th 5-Star prospect visiting this weekend 🦆 https://t.co/OScvJKkbIG pic.twitter.com/vCdhK1xdgj
