The Ohio State Buckeyes have a good, rising star at quarterback to replace Will Howard, but when a player who was expected to be the preseason No. 1 overall pick in the following year’s NFL Draft enters the transfer portal, it could shake things up.
The Buckeyes continuity plan is Julian Sayin, who was the No. 1-ranked transfer portal quarterback by 247Sports last season, joining Ohio State from Alabama. He entered the portal on January 19, 2024, and chose Ohio State two days later.
However, the Buckeyes have also been dubbed one of the three teams to watch for Georgia superstar Carson Beck, who had a disappointing campaign with the Bulldogs and was a top NFL prospect.
That report is coming per Pete Nakos.
Ohio State, Texas Tech, and Miami are 3 teams to watch for Carson Beck once he enters the Transfer Portal, per @PeteNakos_👀https://t.co/AG3PYa31UT https://t.co/72rf6mXs4d pic.twitter.com/Qs98SpPM7B

With Tavien St. Clair, a five-star recruit and the No. 2 overall prospect in the Class of 2025, coming to Columbus next season, the future of the position is bright. The immediate future, however, is a bit murkier, and Beck could be a potential option, although Miami seems like the strong frontrunner.
Beck ended the 2024 season with 3,485 passing yards, 28 touchdowns, and an SEC-high 12 interceptions. He is a two-time CFP Champion with Georgia and will be a hot commodity in the portal.
