Ohio State football took a 21-7 lead into the break of the 2024 College Football Playoff National Championship game against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, looking just as lethal as it did when it blasted the Oregon Ducks for 41 points in the Rose Bowl.
After going down 7-0, the Buckeyes were able to fight back, and their defense started to get more involved as well, limiting what quarterback Riley Leonard was able to do on the ground.
Ohio State’s Will Howard ended the first two quarters with 14 completions on 15 pass attempts and had 144 yards and two scores, one of which went to freshman sensation Jeremiah Smith.
The other was to Ole Miss transfer running back Quinshon Judkins. The other touchdown was a Judkins rush, so the transfer star was heavily involved in Ohio State’s first-half lead.
