The Ohio State football recruiting class of 2023 is complete and despite some murmurs of negativity in the crowd, this class is fantastic from top to bottom. One of the studs of this class is a four-star defensive lineman out of Maryland, Jason Moore.
Brown is widely viewed as a top 75 prospect in the class of 2023 and a top ten defensive lineman in the class. The defensive line has been a strength for the Buckeyes and the depth chart looks to be extremely deep, but Moore maybe a special case of someone who can play immediately. Let’s dive in.
Name: Jason Moore
High School: DeMatha Catholic (Hyattsville, MD)
Height: 6-feet, 6-inches
Weight: 280 pounds
4-Star Defensive Lineman
Strengths
Breaking It All Down
Jason Moore is a highly intriguing prospect because he already has a Big Ten-ready body with reports that he is every inch of the 6-foot, 6-inches reported, and every pound of the 280 pounds listed in high school. To go along with that size is the obvious length needed to keep blockers at bay and he has the frame to add at least another 15 pounds without sacrificing any athleticism.

Weaknesses
Breaking It All Down
Jason Moore has one issue that needs to be fixed before he can dominate in the Big Ten and it is simply to stay low. Moore has great length and was larger than all of his competition in high school and losing the leverage battle really had no impact on his warpath. But it will make a difference at the next level.

Comparison: Joey Bosa
Breaking It All Down
Joey Bosa was a bad man on campus since his arrival to Columbus, Ohio, and started immediately as a freshman, being named an All-American by a number of publications and was a unanimous First Team All-American as a sophomore as well as Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year. Bosa was an All-American again as a junior before declaring for the 2016 NFL draft, where he was selected by the San Diego Chargers in the first round. Since playing in the NFL Bosa has been elite as evidenced by his NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year win and four Pro Bowls.
This is a lofty comparison for Moore, but he and Bosa both arrived on campus with freakish size and scary length. Both utilize their length well and that alone makes them very difficult to block.
