The college football season is right around the corner and as is tradition, all of the major awards are releasing their watch lists. The most recent award to announce such an honor was the Rimington Trophy, that named Ohio State’s Seth McLaughlin to its list.
The Rimington Trophy is awarded annually to the nation’s best center and McLaughlin was listed along with 39 other candidates. He is one of six centers form the Big Ten to make the list. The transfer from Alabama hasn’t taken a snap yet for the Buckeyes, but expectations are high after seeing him start 13 games for the College Football Playoff bound Crimson Tide.
Despite losing to the Michigan Wolverines in the semifinal last season, he is hoping to be a big reason why Ohio State reverses its fortune against “The Team Up North” this year.
