With the early signing period in the books, our focus moves back to the moves being made by the Ohio State Buckeyes in the transfer portal. It appears special teams are the name of the game for Ohio State as it adds another specialist, this time a long snapper.
We previously discussed the addition of former Kent State kicker, Casey Magyar, but the Ohio State Buckeyes added a long snapper prior to the former Mid-American Conference kicker. John Ferlmann was a redshirt freshman at Arizona State last season and started all 12 games for the Sun Devils and will have three seasons of eligibility remaining.
Ferlmann is a Phoenix, Arizona, native and was starting for Arizona State so the decision to transfer is a bit odd. However, after entering his name in the portal on December 5th and visiting the Ohio State campus, he was locked in as a Buckeye. The Buckeyes have already lost 2022 starter, Bradley Robinson, due to injury and Ferlmann will be competing with Mason Arnold for the starting gig in 2023.
