Ange Postecoglou has addressed Celtic's move for Oh Hyeon-gyu - admitting he expects progress in the the transfer market in the "next few days".
The 21-year-old has been on the Parkhead radar throughout the month with Suwon Bluewings knocking back several attempts from the club to land the frontman, but the K-League finally appear prepared to let their star man leave this month with the Scottish Premiership side ramping up their hunt for a new striker. Giorgos Giakoumakis could be set to leave this month with Japanese side Urawa Red Diamonds appearing to lead the race for a deal this month
The player has told the club he wants to the move, and Postecoglou has spoken out about the speculation for the first time ahead of facing Morton. Pushed on Oh Hyeon-gyu, he said: "At the moment, progress on incomings and outgoings but nothing confirmed yet. Obviously we are getting to the tail end of the window and I expect progress over the next few days."
When pushed on any potential boost the South Korea cap could offer the cap, he responded: 'The same as any other hypothetical player you give me. I wouldn't bring them here unless I believe they could contribute."
He was also pressed on if Giakoumakis will still be a Celtic player by the end of January, Postecoglou said: "Until I know or hear otherwise, I expect them all to be Celtic players but there has been progress with all those kinds of issues. I guess over the next few days we will see how it all plays out."
