Oh Hyeon-gyu has checked in at Celtic as he waits for his move to be rubberstamped. But Moritz Jenz is set to join Giorgos Giakoumakis at the exit door.
South Korea striker Oh has confirmed he has “verbally agreed” a deal with the Scottish Premiership champions. Celtic have already agreed a deal which could be potentially worth around £2.5million to Suwon Samsung Bluewings. Hyeon-Gyu is in Glasgow as he waits for the deal to be completed and the work visa and paperwork put in place for his switch. The 21-year-old has already been at Celtic’s training ground to meet his new teammates and staff.
Hyeon Gyu’s arrival should wrap up Ange Postecoglou’s incoming transfer business. But there will be out-goings. Giakoumakis and Jenz are both for the off. The Greek striker now has offers on the table from Atlanta United and Urawa Red Diamonds. The Major League Soccer have put an increased offer on the table and are looking to seal a £4 million deal.
Giakoumakis has a decision to make between America and the J-League over the coming days Meanwhile, Jenz wants to move after falling down the pecking order since the World Cup break.
Jenz has options in Germany, with Schalke already linked, and is expected to return to his homeland before the close of the window. The 23-year-old had been a regular for Celtic in the first half of the season, when Carl Starfelt was out injured.
