Ofsted has taken action to ensure children are safe after a child 'was able to leave a Nottinghamshire nursery unattended'. The education watchdog confirmed it had been made aware of an 'incident' where a child had managed to exit the Little Owls nursery in First Avenue, Carlton, unattended on Tuesday, May 2.
Parents contacted Nottinghamshire Live sharing their shock and disbelief. When Little Owls nursery was approached over these claims staff declined to comment on the incident.
However, Nottinghamshire Live has seen a message sent to parents after the incident. It states: "Firstly we would like to thank all parents for their quick response in collecting children from nursery this afternoon.

"We are currently unable to share anymore information on the incident that occurred at nursery this morning other than all children are safe and well."
Ofsted said it did not comment on individual providers, but confirmed it had been made aware of the incident by the nursery. It added it had taken appropriate action to make sure children at the nursery were safe.
