Offshore living quarter and engineering firm Modutec has made a majority investment in Glasgow-based Co-at Marine.
Co-at Marine specialises in offshore heating, ventilation and refrigeration solutions on board ships and offshore structures.
A statement suggested that the acquisition should bolster Modutec’s solutions for the international marine, offshore, renewables and onshore process sectors, with an additional 10 personnel positioned throughout Scotland.
Modutec managing director Brian Knowles commented: “I am delighted that Co-at Marine have joined forces with us in order to bolster our HVAC and refrigeration capability across all our existing regions but especially for our UK, Europe and Africa regions.
“Co-at Marine is already a well respected name in the market and together with Modutec we feel that we can provide our existing clients and new ones alike with an extremely professional and well rounded offering in this field that compliments Modutec`s existing core services of engineering, architectural, piping and electrical.
Kenny Maciver, technical director at Co-at Marine, added: “We are delighted to be joining the Modutec group, where we look forward to contributing to the ongoing success of the company, and enhancing the overall services and solutions we will be able to offer to existing and future customers.”
Modutec has operations in Aberdeen, Blyth, Las Palmas, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Qatar, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and Baku. It is owned by Envoy & Partners, a UK-headquartered investment group.
