Official fifth-year option amounts for WR Rashod Bateman, OLB Odafe Oweh revealed

The Baltimore Ravens double-dipped in the first round of the 2021 NFL draft, selecting Minnesota wide receiver Rashod Bateman at No. 27 overall and Penn State outside linebacker Odafe Oweh four picks later at No. 31 overall. Both players have had up-and-down starts to their careers, with Bateman missing a good chunk of games due to injury and Oweh being inconsistent.

With it being their fourth season in the league, Baltimore will have decisions to make on both players when it comes to their fifth-year options. There are now three different tiers on fifth-year options. With the recent changes to how the salary cap number is determined, both Bateman and Oweh officially fell under the “basic” category, meaning they earned no additional pay based on playtime and accolades. Batemans’ fifth-year option comes in at $14.3M, while Oweh’s is at $13.3M.

Bateman has 93 catches for 1,617 yards and four touchdowns in his four seasons, while Oweh has accumulated 99 tackles and 13 sacks. Both players are valuable to the Ravens, but at their fifth-year option price points, general manager Eric DeCosta and company will have to make a tough decision.
