Police officers descended on a hospital in Northumberland following reports of a potential sighting of a wanted suspect.
The personnel from Northumbria Police arrived at the scene at Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital in Cramlington after they received information about a wanted suspect.
An eyewitness told ChronicleLive that, alongside officers, police dogs were deployed at the scene at approximately 11am today (December 15).
However, representatives of the Force have confirmed that a suspect was, in fact, not present at the scene.
According to them, their enquires into the whereabouts of the missing individual remain ongoing.
A Northumbria Police spokesperson said: “Today (Thursday), officers attended Cramlington Hospital following information received concerning a wanted suspect.
“The suspect was not present and enquiries are ongoing to locate him."
