Office fitout firm Paramount on track to exceed £50m revenues

Office fitout and design firm Paramount has appointed Richard Jones as its chief executive as it targets new markets and breaking through the £50m revenue mark.

Mr Jones, previously the Cardiff’s firm’s managing director, first joined Paramount 15-years ago and led a management buyout of the business from Nigel Roberts and his family in 2018.

Paramount is one of the fastest-growing indigenous firms in Wales with a ranking of 50th in the 2022 Wales Fast Growth 50 initiative - based on delivering a revenue growth of 81% from 2019-21.

As part of the new management structure Helen Bartlett, who joined the company as a receptionist in 1998 with a degree in interior architecture, has been appointed Mr Jones’ successor as managing director. She was a design manager for 11 years and subsequently design director for seven. Mr Jones will assume responsibility for the overall strategic development of the business, from its head office at St Mellons Business Park, while Ms Barlett will oversee the operational management.

The new appointments follow a period of sustained growth for Paramount and the opening of a new office in the centre of Bristol, which has strengthened its presence in the south west of England marketplace

The business is on target to break through the £50m turnover barrier in its current financial year and is confident of sustained growth in the years ahead.

On Paramount’s new leadership structure, Richard Jones said: “This marks the start of an exciting new chapter in Paramount’s success story. Our company is now perfectly positioned to build on momentum generated by our brilliant team to continue to achieve year-on-year growth and fulfil its vast potential.

“I have seen Paramount go from strength to strength since I joined the company as a project manager 15 years ago, thanks to the incredibly high standards we set, and I am looking forward to working closely with Helen and the management team to keep powering Paramount forward.

“A new management structure and substantial investment in our Bristol office signal the company’s commitment to moving with the times, and as we implement our growth strategy, we will make sure Paramount is a company that Wales can be proud of for many years to come.”

Ms Bartlett said: “I’m extremely excited about what the future holds for Paramount and the new structure means we are perfectly equipped to expand our horizons as we target new markets."
