An off-duty police officers was threatened with a crowbar after intervening in an attempted robbery.
Police Constable Aaron Jackson was flagged down by a man on Liverpool Road in Warrington at around 10.30pm on Monday, April 24, following an attempted robbery. The victim showed off-duty PC Jackson the offenders and he was able to detain one.
As he was detaining a suspect, PC Jackson was threatened with a crowbar, despite this he carried on and detained the second suspect.

Another Cheshire Police officer arrived at the scene shortly after and two 15-year-old boys were arrested. One was arrested on suspicion of affray, attempt robbery and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place, while the other was arrested on suspicion of attempted robbery.
One has been bailed pending further enquiries while another remains in custody.
Sergeant David Hynds said: “I would like to commend PC Jackson for going above and beyond to assist the public, whilst off-duty and despite the threat to himself. His quick-thinking and courageous actions have safeguarded the victim and ensured the suspects will face the consequences of their actions.”
