Off-duty nurses rushed to help a young boy after he was hit by a van in Kensington.
The 11-year-old was knocked down by the Ford Transit van at around 7.55pm yesterday, resulting in road closures from Albany Road to Low Hill.
It is understood a group of nurses, on their way home from a shift at the Royal Liverpool University Hospital, attended to the youngster as they waited for services to arrive. The boy was then taken to hospital, where he remains in a serious condition, police said.
