Odin Thiago Holm believes Celtic enormity is underrated as he reveals Brendan Rodgers meeting in Mallorca

Beaming Odin Thiago Holm admits his mind was made up in an instant once Celtic made clear they wanted to sign him.

The 21-year-old midfielder will get down to work under Brendan Rodgers' guidance as the first team returns to the club's training base on Monday. And the Norway youth international admits he is craving success in Glasgow's east end and is relishing working under the Irishman's guidance as he raved about his new manager's CV.

And he believes the scale of the club is overlooked by observers in his homeland as he is primed for a Champions League adventure. Speaking to Celtic TV: "It feels very nice. It is a really big club. I don't think the people in Norway understand how big a club it is. In Valerenga, it's a club from the capital, we have 10,000 each game, here we have 60,000. It is a really big step. I didn't really think, I just wanted to leave, as soon as possible, Champions League, you play to win every game, it is a big club."

And he admits the lure of teaming up with Rodgers is a motivating factor as the 50-year-old is set for his second spell in charge. He added: "His CV is very nice, he has been managing Celtic before, Liverpool, Swansea and Leicester. You get a bit star struck, at first, but I am looking forward to work with a manager of that size. I was on vacation in Majorca and I actually met him there in his house, so he seems like a very kind, humble guy with man-management and was easy to talk to and was open, so that was nice."

Thiago Holm has opened up on what fans can expect as he made clear he's aiming to become a regular contributor in front of goal. He said: "I think I am a creative player who likes a bit of freedom to play on my instincts. The final pass, goals, assists, I want to play more offensively like a No.8, No10. It's not going to be easy, I want to perform and be part of the first XI. I am really excited to start in the pre-season, I am excited to play for the fans."
