As the NFL continues to await Odell Beckham Jr.’s free-agent decision, the coveted wide receiver is reportedly set to travel for an upcoming meeting with a team rumored to be the frontrunner for his services.
Beckham, 30, plans to fly to the New York on Sunday for a meeting with the Jets on Monday, Josina Anderson of CBS Sports reported Saturday. NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport later reported OBJ’s long-awaited visit with the club will be “multi-faceted,” noting the trip will include a physical for the star wideout, who is continuing to work his way back from a torn ACL.
Beckham’s visit will also reportedly involve a “thorough discussion” between the three-time Pro Bowler and the team regarding his role in an offense led by Aaron Rodgers, per Rapoport. Beckham and Rodgers have been notably linked throughout the offseason amid the Jets’ ongoing discussions to land the Packers legend in a blockbuster trade.

While it remains to be seen when the seemingly inevitable Rodgers deal will come to fruition, adding Beckham to the roster would add a nice boost to an already talented Jets receiving corps. New York currently boasts a rotation that includes reigning Offensive Rookie of the Year Garrett Wilson, veteran Corey Davis and notable free-agent additions Allen Lazard and Mecole Hardman.
Should the upcoming meeting go smoothly, Beckham could soon put an end to months of speculation surrounding possible landing spots. Most recently, the nine-year veteran reportedly received a contract offer from another AFC team in the Ravens, who remain at odds with star QB Lamar Jackson.
