In the midst of preparing for an anticipated NFL return, Odell Beckham Jr. took a moment on Saturday to share a message of gratitude towards the person he claimed changed his life forever: Rams coach Sean McVay.
The Ravens receiver thanked McVay, his coach for part of the 2021 season, and touted his strong influence on Twitter, saying the Rams coach “single handedly changed my life.” Beckham, who played a key role in the Rams’ eventual Super Bowl LVI triumph, shared his message in response to a clip of McVay praising him while reflecting on their time in L.A. during a recent interview.
After also shouting out the organization, the fun-loving wideout took a playful swipe at McVay and Rams defensive coordinator Raheem Morris over the upcoming Week 14 matchup between his current and former team in Baltimore this season.
“Coach Mcvay, you changed my life forever man,” Beckham began. “Grateful I had that experience wit u, single handedly changed my life. Love and miss them boys over there, can’t wait to whooop u and coach Rah this year [five laughing emojis].”

A mid-season signing in Nov. 2021, Beckham appeared in eight regular season and four playoff games for the Rams. The three-time Pro Bowler recorded 48 receptions for 593 yards and seven touchdowns in those appearances before suffering a torn ACL in the second quarter of Super Bowl LVI.
After spending more than 18 months rehabbing, Beckham will soon have a chance to showcase his skills for the first time since his Rams run, which McVay expects will produce more than a few shining moments for the 30-year-old.
“I love that guy,” McVay told The Pivot Podcast. “… I always feel like the people that shine the brightest, when the stage is big as possible, like no moment is ever too big, he’s the kind of guy that comes to mind. I thought he played his best in those most important moments. Like, we talk about competitive greatness all the time, he’s one of the epitomes of competitive greatness.”
