Odell Beckham Jr leaves Dallas Cowboys facility with no deal as future still unclear

Odell Beckham Jr has left the Dallas Cowboys facility with no deal after multiple reports and signals suggested that a move was close.

Beckham remains a free agent as we enter the final weeks of the regular season, after suffering an ACL tear in the Super Bowl which has now kept him out for 11 months amid a potential return this season.

The Cowboys were reported as the clear favourites to sign the superstar wide receiver with the team on an absolute tear in recent weeks ahead of a potential Super Bowl run, with star players Micah Parsons and Trevon Diggs pining for him to join them.

Earlier this week, Beckham was seen with the two Cowboys defensive stars at a Dallas Mavericks game as he met with the team earlier that day. However, he did not sign a deal and has now returned to his Arizona home, with it not being known whether an offer is on the table for him with Dallas have serious concerns.

Team owner Jerry Jones expressed that a deal was not close for Beckham to join, after they had not been able to determine whether he'd be fit enough to play this season - a clear deal-breaker for Dallas.

Speaking to Tuesday’s 105.3 The Fan show, Jones said: "I’m not confident at all (on Beckham playing this season). And, so, that’s the issue. Now, we all realize that issue of health, that issue of availability is here every time. Just this one is very obvious and very pointed toward his injury that occurred last year in the Super Bowl.

"You got a lot of history here and you can take a good look at, not only the obvious and that’s his performance, but also any issues regarding health. So, all of this we got to come in with our eyes wide open and it has to be addressed, and that’s when you can see if you can make a deal or not."

Jones would go on to admit that they are exploring their options at the current state, before acknowledging a deal to sign the 30-year-old is not close.

He added: "By no means are we at a position to say, ‘close,’ or where we are. We’re just discussing the many options that are there."

Elsewhere, the New York Giants and Buffalo Bills had both met with Beckham, but he also left with no deal. It could be the case that the superstar has three offers from the different teams mentioned to ponder until he returns.

Parsons recently stated that Beckham told him he will be ready for the play-offs.
