After over a year of speculation, Odell Beckham Jr. himself announced which team he’s signing with. He did so with some help from his baby boy.
Beckham simply posted his son, Zydn, wearing a Ravens hat and Lamar Jackson’s jersey with the caption “Flock…” Of course, the jersey and hat were a little too big for the infant, but it’ll look good on his dad.
Beckham hasn’t played in an NFL game since February 2022 when he tore his ACL in the first half of Super Bowl LVI. He and Rams came away with the win, but the explosive wideout entered free agency and didn’t sign with a team last season.
His patience appears to have paid off, though. Despite coming off the catastrophic injury, the three-time Pro Bowler is reportedly getting an incentive-filled contract. According to Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer, Beckham was asking for $15 million annually and he got just that. But he can earn an additional $3 million in incentives on the one year deal, making it worth up to $18 million.
Per NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, $13.835 million is Beckham’s signing bonus and the other $1.165 million is his base salary.
Beckham will be a welcome addition to Baltimore since the team is devoid of playmakers in the passing game. Jackson has been heavily relied upon in the offense and the former MVP remains a question mark after he openly said he requested a trade from the team. With a much-needed weapon on the way, maybe Jackson thinks twice about his future in Baltimore.
