Odds of Panthers drafting Will Levis at No. 1 overall drastically increase

The odds for the 2023 NFL draft’s top pick got a bit . . . um . . . odd on Tuesday.

University of Kentucky quarterback Will Levis, who has already jumped into the pole position amongst oddsmakers for the second pick, suddenly became a noteworthy No. 2 for No. 1. Previously at a distant +4000 on Monday, Levis rose all the way to a +400 for DraftKings Sportsbook to be taken by the Carolina Panthers with the first overall selection later this week.

Those numbers now stick the 23-year-old passer right behind University of Alabama star and 2021 Heisman Trophy winner Bryce Young. Young, however, does remain the solid favorite for the honor.

Levis’ drastic blitz to the spot can likely be attributed to some misinformation courtesy of a Reddit post from this morning. In the sportsbook subreddit, a user named “SaleAgreeable2834” claimed Levis has been telling friends and family that the Panthers informed him of their intent to take him atop the board.

This post could be (and is extremely likely) an attempt at making some quick bucks off of some, well, bull manure.
