Notts County head coach Ian Burchnall hailed a "professional and ruthless" response as the Magpies made up for their Torquay horror show with a thumping win against King's Lynn.
The Magpies ran out 4-1 winners in the Good Friday clash at Meadow Lane and had to come from behind after Gold Omotayo scored a shock opener for the visitors. But Kyle Wootton's 20th goal of the season pulled Notts level and the returning Callum Roberts put them ahead with a thumping finish before half-time.
Aaron Nemane's terrific strike put the game out of King's Lynn's reach in the second half before substiute Eli Sam rounded off a fine afternoon with a ruthless strike from 12 yards. After losing 5-1 to Torquay last weekend, in a performance that drew plenty of criticism, it was an excellent response from Notts who look odds on to clinch a play-off spot.
And asked what pleased him the most about the victory, Burchnall said: "Strangely, going 1-0 down. I know that sounds a bit odd, but I actually thought it was a foul on Harry and the ref should have stopped the game. They scored and we had switched off a little bit. But then you really get to see the test of character.
"We lost last week and then we go 1-0 down, but I thought we were so calm. We created a lot chances and were very measured in the game. It was just a great response. A professional and ruthless response which is exactly what we wanted. The players put in a great display. We managed the game really well."
