Morgan said: "I loved the book, which is an amazing page-turning, erotic thriller, but it was written entirely from a man’s point of view. Anna, his lover, is portrayed as a kind of vamp who comes into the family, blows everything up and then disappears. Her primary function is to serve the purpose of what the male lead needs.
"I said, 'If I'm going to do this, I want to make sure I dig into Anna and why she behaves in the way she does.' I wanted to try and understand the character."

Where was Netflix's Obsession filmed?
Obsession was filmed in glamorous locations in London, Paris and the South of France. Speaking about the filming locations, director Glenn Leyburn said: "Lisa [Barros D’Sa] and I are very particular about locations because they often set the tone for the entire piece and all these places were amazingly vivid backdrops for our story."
However, the sparsely beautiful, London flat where William and Anna meet for their secret assignations, was built on a set at Twickenham Film Studios. "It helped us to create exactly what we wanted from that apartment - a kind of otherworldly, liminal space," Glenn said.
Lisa added: "When William goes through the door of that apartment it’s almost as if he’s entering a dark fairy-tale. It’s a world that exists outside of convention, outside of their everyday lives. It’s a cocoon, a separate place they’re creating just for themselves through the language of their bodies."
