O -lunla Market -- Bangkok's first-ever lifestyle, retail and cultural fair designed for older people -- will be held at Museum Siam from March 31 to April 2.
Organised by O-lunla Club, a well-established local community for senior citizens, the event aims to encourage and support the well-being of people over 55 years of age by inspiring and giving them a playground to live life to the fullest.
Visitors will find 75 booths, all staffed by oldsters, offering a variety of goods and services ranging from food and drink (some rarely available nowadays), art and crafts, cosmetics, fashion apparel, herbal products and garden supplies to vintage collectibles, health check-ups and even astrology readings.
There will also be various workshops and half-day expeditions hosted by experts. The line-up includes kombucha scoby making, muscle stretching exercises, money management and investment classes, vocal training, tea making and Rattanakosin walking tours.
Stage activities during the three-day event include acoustic music, vocal and dance performances, as well as a roster of talks by well-versed authorities who will share their wisdom and inspirational experiences with the audience.
Among guest speakers will be philanthropist Khunying Chamnongsri Hanchanlash, former senator Paisal Puechmongkol, veteran actor/agriculturist Nirut Sirijanya and 73-year-old celebrity barista Pa Pim of Mother Roaster.
The family-friendly event is held outdoors on the front yard of Museum Siam, right next to Sanam Chai MRT Station, Exit 1.
O-lunla Market is open 3-9pm and entry is free for all ages. However, booking and registration are required for workshops and tours.
