NYPD Officers Arrested in Connection with Venezuelan Gang Assault

Five NYPD officers have been identified as members of a dangerous Venezuelan gang known as 'Trend the Rock.' Today, these officers are due in court to face charges related to a violent attack carried out on two fellow NYPD officers in Times Square.

The assault took place when Kelvin Servita Rocha, aged 19, and Wilson Omar Waras I Willair, aged 21, allegedly beat the two officers. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers have since arrested both suspects, who were unlawfully present Venezuelan citizens. The suspects are currently being held by ICE without bail.

Furthermore, it has been revealed that these two individuals are connected to a series of moped cell phone thefts that have plagued New York City. The Venezuelan gang, Trend the Rock, has been responsible for several of these thefts, creating a wave of concern among residents and law enforcement agencies.

In total, eight suspects have been arrested so far in connection with this attack. Among them is Ulysses Bajorquez, aged 21, who is currently being held on a $100,000 cash bail. It is encouraging to see these individuals in custody, as it represents a step in the right direction towards justice for the injured officers and increased safety for the community.

The NYPD, ICE, and other law enforcement agencies have been working diligently to identify and apprehend those involved in this violent assault. The investigation into the gang's activities and the thefts they were responsible for is still ongoing, with the goal of dismantling the entire criminal network.

The identification of NYPD officers as members of this Venezuelan gang has raised serious concerns within the police department. Measures will undoubtedly be taken to ensure enhanced vetting and screening processes for potential recruits, as well as improved internal monitoring and disciplinary actions.

The arrest of these officers serves as a reminder that no one is above the law, and that those who betray their oath to protect and serve will be held accountable. It is crucial to maintain trust in law enforcement agencies, as they play a vital role in safeguarding our communities.

Moving forward, a thorough investigation is expected to shed light on the extent of the gang's operations and determine if any other officers or individuals were involved. Law enforcement agencies are committed to rooting out any corruption and ensuring that justice is served.

In the face of these troubling revelations, it is important for the public to support the dedicated men and women of law enforcement who uphold their duty with honor and integrity. Together, with a unified effort, we can work towards a safer and more secure society.
