Nurse left wanting to 'scream' after being sent 'creepy' messages by Uber Eats driver

After reaching the end of a 12-hour shift in A&E, a nurse named Justine just wanted to rest and enjoy a well-deserved McDonald's breakfast.

Being "hungry as f**k" and tired after her long night on the ward, Justine ordered the food to her home via Uber Eats.

However, the process wasn't as straightforward and simple as she'd hoped for - as her delivery driver's behaviour left her feeling very uncomfortable.

Given that she just wanted to dig into her meal, you can imagine that the last thing Justine wanted was to have a lengthy conversation on the doorstep with a complete stranger.

However, the driver proceeded to keep talking while handing over her delivery, so much so that Justine had to tell him that she needed to sleep and go back inside.

Unfortunately, things didn't end there.

Taking to TikTok, with a video that has been viewed more than 1.4 million times, Justine said: "He then messaged me on the app. Just look because I’m speechless. I could scream".

She went on to show the messages sent to her by the driver, who proceeded to ask whether she was “single, married, or have a boyfriend [sic]”.

Keen to end the conversation sharpish, Justine fibbed and said she had a boyfriend, hoping that would be the end of it. However, the driver continued to pester her, telling her that he'd give her his number anyway in case "one day" she'd be interested.

Justine - who goes by the username justinejhxo - continued: "He kept calling me from different mobile numbers and he was lingering outside my flat and I live on my own".

When Justine went to rate her experience, the man continued to ring her on her mobile.

Understandably concerned about the situation, she added: "Not only does this man have my mobile number now, he has my address!"

She captioned her clip, writing: "POV you finish a 12.5-hour shift in A&E and get harassed by your Uber Eats driver. @UberEats sort your people out smh."

Unfortunately, others who've seen the video have reported experiencing similar incidents, with one woman recalling: "I got a delivery driver sacked for something like this he kept asking me out on a date and tried to stop me shutting the door".

Another commented: "I had a food delivery driver visit me the next day to ‘check I was okay’. I don’t order takeout when I’m alone anymore".

In a follow-up clip, Justine updated her followers on the situation, explaining that she has since reported the driver to Uber Eats, with the company offering an apology and stating that the man would be spoken to.

She continued: "I'm probably just going to delete the app, to be honest. At least I'll save some money! On a serious note, judging by the comments, it's happened to a lot of women which isn't okay, but am I surprised? No. It's just a shame".

A spokesperson for Uber Eats told The Mirror: "What has been reported is totally unacceptable and we are currently investigating this incident. Couriers found to have behaved in this way face permanent removal from the app."
