Nurse Beth Porch wows Britain's Got Talent judges with heartfelt song about saving lives

A nurse, who has recently recovered from coronavirus, wows the Britain's Got Talent judges on Saturday night with a song about her experiences of working in a cancer ward.

Get your tissues ready if you're planning on watching this week's BGT as it looks set to be another emotional one thanks to the audition from London-based nurse Beth Porch.

Last week, millions of viewers were left drying their eyes after an amazing performance from the Sign Along With Us Choir, which earned them David Walliam's Golden Buzzer, and now there will be more goosebumps as Beth sings an original song about her patients.

And, while we can't yet reveal if she got the yeses she required to make it through to the next round, we can tell you that Beth made quite an impression on David and fellow judges Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon.

Beth, 25, went viral last year after footage of her singing playing and ukulele to a three-year-old child cancer patient was widely shared on social media.

And her fanbase will get bigger on Saturday night when viewers see her perform You Taught Me What Love Is, a song she wrote about saving lives, in her Britain's Got Talent audition, which was filmed earlier this year before she contracted coronvirus.

Beth tested positive for COVID-19 after experiencing mild symptoms and was forced to take a few weeks off work, but is now back to normal after recovering at home.

The nurse told The Sun: "I knew I had it as soon as I started coughing. A hospital tested me because I'm frontline staff... it felt like having the flu so I wasn't too badly off.

“I was able to ride it out at home without needing to go to hospital. Now I’m back to normal and happy to be back at work helping look after everyone.”
