As another week passes, this season's Arsenal loan army is getting smaller and smaller.
What was a 29-man strong group after the January transfer window closed became 17 following the conclusion of the regular season across the English Football League pyramid and the number was reduced even further with Tim Akinola making his return after suffering heartbreak in the National League play-off final.
Joining the midfielder back at London Colney shortly will be Nikolaj Moller after Den Bosch's Eerste Divisie campaign drew to a close with a 3-0 home defeat at the hands of De Graafschap on Friday evening. The striker made 22 appearances, scoring four goals and weighing in with one assist.

Brooke Norton-Cuffy's time with Coventry City has been extended as they beat Middlesbrough in the Championship play-off semi-final last Wednesday night and will now face Luton Town at Wembley Stadium this coming Saturday where the winners will be promoted to the Premier League.
With that said, despite there being fewer Arsenal loanees to track, none of Nicolas Pepe, Ainsley Maitland-Niles, Cedric Soares, Albert Sambi Lokonga, Mika Biereth, Marcelo Flores, Ryan Alebiosu or Alex Kirk were in action over the weekend.
Although Pablo Mari - whose permanent transfer should soon be made official - featured in Monza's 2-1 win over Sassuolo, Runar Alex Runarsson gave a good account of himself as Alanyaspor beat Kayserispor 4-0, but Arthur Okonkwo suffered defeat in Sturm Graz colours away at Red Bull Salzburg.
Now with Ovie Ejeheri in action today (Monday May 22) in addition to Nuno Tavares seemingly in hot water again at Marseille due to an attitude problem, as reported by RMC Sport, in training which saw him dropped from the matchday squad for the 2-1 loss at Lille, it means Folarin Balogun was the only other Arsenal loanee to feature at the weekend.
And as has been the case for much of the season, the striker found the back of the net as Reims drew 2-2 with Angers. That goal, his 20th in Ligue 1, may have been extra special for the 21-year-old as it was the very first since declaring he will be representing the USMNT.
