Reigning NBA champion and two-time MVP Nikola Jokić faced the 2023 first overall pick Victor Wembanyama on Sunday night during the Nuggets' 132–120 win over the Spurs.
This surely won’t be the last time the two international NBA stars meet on the court. But, from just one meeting, Jokić already had high praise for the 19-year-old French phenom. By the sounds of it, the Serbian jumped on the Wembanyama hype train, too.
“He’s going to change the game, 100 percent,” Jokić told reporters after the game. “He’s already on that path, so just enjoy and watch the show and let the guy change the game.”
